Please send Letters BY AIRMAIL do Dollar Line Singapore.

to Singapore They only take 7 days.

Very few journalists go to the Philippines or the Dutch East Indies or to Siam and there will be masses of new material.

Book Do you remember the great literary gent (Christy and Moore) suggesting I should write a book ? I did not promise anything unless I could get new and valuable material. I have thought of investigating the results of Japan’s policy in the Pacific and the attitude of the population.

Chapter 1.California (with notes on Canada)

2.Honolulu

3.Phillipines.

4 Singapore (with notes on Australia and India)

5,Dutch East Indies.

6,Siam

7.Canton area.

8.Central China.

9,North China.

10.Manchukuo.

11.korea.

12 Japan finally with my conclusions.

2.Climate The summer in the Philippines ,south China and Singapore is terrible The only liveable place in the Far East in August is in the mountains of Japan. All the diplomats and journalists go to Karuisawa where it cool. There one has contacts and can work.

3.Financial Lectures and Radio talks in America (and the possible book) will be profitable and knowledge of countries like Siam will be helpful

I had a grand weekend in the Mountains near Fujiyama.I hope that Gwyneth can decipher my Sunday letter written with a Japanese brush.

It was splendid to receive your letters. But what a pity you did not send them by Trans-Siberia. It saves nearly a fortnight .Your letter of Jan 24th arrived on Feb 24! Letter from Manchester Guardian written on Jan 27th  arrived Friday Feb 15th 11 was marked "By Siberia".

I am looking forward to receiving the M.G. articles (2 appeared the same week) .couldn’t you take the M.G.? Please would you buy several copies with my articles.

Thank you very much for Mr Gwilym Davies letter, but this country isn't like Russia. 1 am amazed at the freedom of expression here .Views such as G.D.’S are very often quoted in the English press here ;and there are many attacks on the military. The description of the famine here are in the papers and Parliament continually.

Thank you very much for sending the Reform Club cheque. But I think that it will be better just to send my letters direct to me There was no need to pay the £7.17.6 because my sub this year is only £2.2.O.because I am out of the country. Ond diolich yn fawr just the same and I paid the riding 5/-so don’t bother to open the letters.

Please thank Phyllis for your excellent letter r I enjoyed having it very much indeed.

It is of her to look after lanto so well and I am glad he is better.

I am quite excited about seeing my first M.G. article .1 think it is an honour,, don’t you, especially their being signed Could you send me the George Harris article in the W.M.

Prof Andrews must have Siriol’s address re.the stamp club. I’ll write to him.

Again I haven’t really described Japan. I’ve been busy seeing heaps of people and being invited all the time and reading all I can.

I did enjoy Auntie’s and Gwyneth’s letters .The description of the sale was grand.! wish I had seen France’s jumpers.

I am having a splendid time .1 shall look forward to some more ,letters then to mail in Singapore do Dollar Line. Write there until April 15 (by Air Mail) April 15- 20 -Hong Kong do Dollar Line. April 20 Shanghai do Dollar Line.
